It is time to stop pretending. There's really no way around it - there's an unbelievable wealth of things in life that beat spending your time staring at your designated screen, tightly shackled to your work desk, toiling away for the man. The sad truth is that there aren't that many of us who have the freedom to do what they love and still make a halfway decent living. It seems like a pipe dream. The gigs we love don't pay the rent and the ones we don't make impossible to feel truly fulfilled or gratified. To distract us from this painful reality, we must try to make the best of things with what's been made available to us. And that is where the memes and humor come in. They help to take our minds off the tedious and thankless routine and enjoy a little levity for a satisfying change.
